The Sabbatical – Winding Down

“It’s something unpredictable, and in the end it’s right, I hope you have the time of your life” Green Day, 1998. Sigh. It looks like the sabbatical could be coming to an end, but another great month of memories. Hung out with Jerry, Bunny and Les in Miami. San Francisco found me catching up with some old friends, and then on to our 50th state of Hawaii with Marcia and Sue. Then the big news, I went to Myrtle Beach for the completion of my house. Christmas back in DC, and then finally spending some quality time in my new house in Myrtle Beach including New Years. They also finally fixed my car, so I got wheels! Have a Happy New Year, everyone!!!

More big news. I am now using a new company for web space, www.xoom.com, since I ran out of space on AOL. I don’t know how they’re going to make it, but they provide 11MB’s of free web space. Check them out.

The Sabbatical – Month Two

As we endure another week of the endless Microsoft debates with the DOJ, I’m still flitting around the globe having the time of my life. After last month in Columbus, I returned to my parents in Washington DC for a few days. Then, this crazy lady ran me off the road, and my lovely Acura was close to totaled! Went to Boston to visit my freshmen year roommate, Ken, and his family. Ken and I scampered down to Myrtle Beach for a couple of days to check on the status of the house. Popped back into Sioux City for a quick volleyball game, and then on to Las Vegas. I won $2000. Things must be going my way. Back to Washington DC for the Thanksgiving holidays. Bill Gates doesn’t know what fun is!

Sabbatical from Gateway Begins

Guess what? I spent virtually the entire month of October as the beginning of my 90 day sabbatical. So far it’s been great. First I went to Tampa Bay, to help an old friend celebrate his 40th. Next, I drove the Acura to Chicago where I caught up with some old friends. Then I flew to New York City, where I ran into Tom Grueskin, and we went to World Series Game 1. I also visited Jeff Resnick’s family, who I roomed with in college. Back to Chicago for another day, and then I drove to Columbus OH, to visit my brother’s family, including my two nephews, Ryan and Joshua. Enjoy the photos. I know I liked making them. Sorry, no pics of Tampa Bay or Chicago. 🙁

Hurricane Bonnie Hits Myrtle Beach

Another eventful month….I took a few days of vacation and went to golf school in San Diego. Sorry no pictures of that! Hurricane Bonnie blew past by my house in Myrtle Beach but fortunately no damage. My brother, Dave, was fortunate enough to be in Myrtle Beach right when they were evacuating! I also visited Myrtle Beach over Labor Day weekend, in some last preparations for the house. Last but not least, my friend Ken, had a baby boy named Max. Enjoy the pictures.

Joshua is Born

This was a very exciting month for quite a few reasons. First, This marks the one year anniversary of my home page. Additionally, I have another nephew named Joshua who came into the world this month. Also, the Gateway sponsored Saturday in the Park was a total blast, and I went to a few going away parties for friends that are moving to San Diego. Then of course, I went to Myrtle Beach to check on the progress of the house. Whew! Pretty busy month.
