May is Bike Month in Myrtle Beach
Time is count down in Myrtle Beach in May by the number of bikers that come to town this month. The constant rumble of Harleys could be heard at all hours from my house. During the peak of biker’s weekend, my volleyball captain, Jill Freerks and her friend, Jill, came down for a visit. The weather was great, and Bachman Turner Overdrive came to town to entertain us and the bikers. It was great.
The only travel for the month was a quick sojourn to South Dakota for Ted’s annual golf retreat in Okoboji. It was great to see so many of my old friends again, and we came in second in the golf tournament. We had a great team with Dave Russell, Jerry Taylor, and Doug Lacey. My golf game continues to improve but slowly and inconsistently. Persistence is key.
- The “Jills” and I went to Terry and Gail Mahan’s daughter’s wedding party.
- Jill and Jill enjoying a coldie.
- Two of my neighbors, Diane and Billy Belair. Billy spent all that day on the golf course.
- Raymond Moore, my builder, with his wife and friend.
- Me and Jill, chatting with neighbors, Linda Kaminsky, and Ray and Jenny Moore.
- Then Lisa Miller and Billy Belair decided to get in the picture!
- No one can use a remote control like Dave Russell
- Dave O hit some awesome 300 yard drives for our scramble team.
- Richie Story won the tournament, and also partied harder than anyone.
- At 63, Jerry Taylor carried our team, but here is probably his worst swing of the day.
- Great day, nice golf course, a low score, what else could my teammate, Jerry Taylor, want?
- The grand finale. Who needs a beer?
- Tom Welsh “Wally” singing “Girls just want to have fun”
